I pinky promise this is my last gift guide style of post I’m going to do for the year… I thought though that this is the most difficult as men are SO hard to buy for and that’s probably why I always leave Ayman until last, well that and you always leave the best until last don’t you! Ayman (my hubby) has actually written some of these ideas himself just so you know, so this is coming straight from a man and what a man wants.
So here’s a few ideas:
1- L’Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift Double Action Moisturiser – RRP currently half price at Boots for just £7.39.
Who says that anti wrinkle creams are just for women? Men need it just as much as us don’t they, maybe even more in my opinion because they can’t hide it as much as we can with our layers of foundation, concealer and highlighters ;). On the flip side it’s so not fair that men can look so good without an ounce of makeup.
2- Handmade bow tie – RRP £20 – £25
If he has a son too you could get a matching one for the bubba as a son to Father gift, how cute’s that?! My friend Dan hand makes them all with the most beautiful premium fabrics, you can see his site here. He sews in mother of pearl buttons for adjusting sizes too which is especially nifty for growing children. Plus they all come in gorgeous Kraft packaging which sets the whole gift off in looking far more expensive than it actually is – winner!
It’s not always possible to combine substance AND style but The North Face have managed it here with these perfect, everyday gloves that not only keep your hands comfy and warm but also, crucially, allow for smartphone use thanks to their touchscreen-friendly fingertips. My hubby has these already and has bought them for two of his mates for Christmas because he loves them that much.
4- Socks – RRP £11 – £169 (for a large gift pack)
Not any old socks though, why don’t you push the boat out and get him a pair of ‘proper gentlemen’ socks that will make him feel like he’s oozing with style just like David Gandy. I always think it’s nice at Christmas to receive things that you wouldn’t normally receive or buy yourself and so I think a little everyday luxury is such a lovely gift idea and so much better than the cheap multi buys guys generally receive. He’ll be shocked when he opens a stylish pair from the London Sock Company who I’ve just found out are giving 10% of their David Gandy range to charity which makes you feel even better when purchasing from them.
5- Stanley Chow Framed Artwork – RRP £25 – £50
6- The Book of Everyone – RRP £20 – £50
I just made one of these for Hugo for his first year of life and also for two other family members as they’re great for any age to be honest and add all sorts of interesting anecdotes detailing every little aspect based from their date of birth. There’s quite a lot of pages where you can personalise it and add your own photos or sayings which makes it a great keepsake and more sentimental too.
7- A back massage – (I’d say you could buy a decent one for £30)
My hubby is always saying how much he would love a back massage so I think this is always a winner if you can’t think of anything else. You could even go the extra mile and book a spa day for you both which is an added little pressie for you too hehe and if you’re anything like us it’d be lovely to have that time where it’s just you two together again for a moment without any kiddies taking all your attention :).
8- Gifts under £25 – Not on the high street
If you’re still stuck you won’t be after making your way through this fabulous list. It has so many interesting and personalised gift ideas that are quite simply, just amazing and on that note I’m off to have a little goosey gander as Ayman is the only person I need to shop for now.
Gorgeous photos and some fab ideas! Defo going to do the father and son bow ties next time we have a wedding to go to! xx
