It’s been two weeks of knowing what our little miracle is and it’s finally time to reveal whether we are having a bouncing beautiful boy or giggly gorgeous girl. Looking at all your guesses on my Instagram picture, I’d say that girl was the most popular guess, so let me quickly put your mind at rest. We are having a gorgeous baby…

BOY!!!!

We are BEYOND excited for Hugo to have a little baby brother! We don’t actually have any close-in-age brothers on either side of our families so this will be a first. It’s quite bizarre; considering how I have felt SO different with this pregnancy (which you can read more about in my previous post here), my gut instinct was telling me we were having a little girl so it just goes to show, pregnancies can be like chalk and cheese and still have the same outcome! Don’t get me wrong – I would love a little girl at some point but I feel so super blessed just being able to have children and the main thing to me is to have a healthy strong baby. Ayman doesn’t have a brother having grown up surrounded by sisters so he is really over-the-moon to be able to enjoy this brotherhood dynamic through our own children. Who knows in the future I may compete with one of my lovely friends Faye who is currently expecting twin boys to add to the three boys she and her husband already have! Or in Ayman’s words, the perfect ‘five-a-side football team’. Typical men hey!

As you may know with Hugo we waited until he was born to find out if it was a girl or boy but it’s been such a different kind of excitement finding out this time. I’m loving being able to plan in my mind (and soon our new home) for our little one to arrive in Spring. I feel like the nesting bug has already started to kick in but because we’re moving in the next week I’ve been non-stop researching furniture and the like online instead. Not long to wait now though; so glad we’ll be in before Christmas which was the dream all along.

The reason why it’s taken soooo long to reveal the gender is because I’ve been working at the weekends and the weather has been raining on all my days off – blooming typical! So Sunday (yesterday) was the day to get it all done with the intention of putting it live last night but here we are and it’s now Monday and I’ve just finished editing and uploading our little 2 minute video on YouTube so I do hope you have time to give it a little watch below.

Song ‘Brother’ by Matt Corby
I just want to say a super massive special thanks to the beautiful Danielle Foye (who’s my brothers girlfriend btw) for taking time out of her busy schedule to have a day with me putting all her creative juices to the test. It was so therapeutic to listen to music, sit back, chat and be painted on for the afternoon and even Danielle found it therapeutic too, so watch this space for belly paintings in the future haha.

In the meantime you should definitely check out her Instagram page here because honestly when you start looking closely into her artwork you become mesmerised by the stories they tell, it’s no wonder her page is absolutely booming at the moment. Isn’t it incredible how someone can turn a blank empty canvas or in my case a blank belly into a beautiful piece of art using just their imagination and talents. Here’s her Etsy page which showcases some of her fabulous creations too.

It wasn’t long before Hugo wanted in on a piece of the action… you can see more on the video above – he’s so darn cute!! Goodness knows the cuteness overload I’m going to have with two of them!

Adding the finer details…

And here we have it, the finished article. How magical does it look? I love all the sprinkles of snow to give that beautiful Christmassy feel too.

We experimented with blue smoke grenades too to really make an impact but you see the full beauty of this in the video as well as my hubby Ayman and Hugo in it too.

Here’s a few shots from the woodland mini trip anyhow…

So there we have it, I’m going to be surrounded by three gorgeous boys and I really can’t complain. I think we’ll have to watch ‘Three Men and a Little Lady’ to get in the mood!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this ‘revealing the gender’ post and the video. We had so much fun creating it and I’m glad I didn’t give up on what was going on in my mind and persevered to capture these beautiful memories forever.

Thanks for stopping by, it’s so lovely to share this special journey with you! Have a fabulous week you beautiful bunch!

Much love
