I first started practicing yoga during my high school days mostly in my living room, following videos and DVD’s and it was during my dance teaching and performance degree did I start doing it on more of a daily basis. Again this was generally in my tiny bedroom whilst I was in student accommodation – needs must!
After my degree I still practiced but not as much on a regular basis but it was really after I had both my children that I picked it up again. This time I found myself stepping into a hot yoga studio though which is where I re-fell in love with yoga but on a much more deeper level. The intensity of the heat, the dimly lit room which drew me within myself instantly, it became the body, mind and spiritual practice it should have always have been. It was time for just me, on my mat, listening to my body and connecting to my inner world whilst being amongst other like-minded people. I felt at home.
I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga Alliance Accredited) in July 2019 and have plans to further my training in more depth next year.
I now teach weekly yoga classes in the Preston, Lancashire region, run retreats where I lead yoga sessions (these are all over the North West) and yoga brunch clubs on the horizon too so watch this space!
